"There aren’t really any surprises in the midfield."

Grant why don't you view the absence of Gianluca Busio as a surprise? I see you list him as "notable omission"... his minutes have dropped with Venezia but he has played well when featured and seemed to play well for Berhalter... is there anything underlying this?

I think it is a pretty cool roster. We get to see a number of exciting new players, and I have wanted to see Scally for some time. It seems wise to give Pepi a break, and the Brooks decision seems pretty final. Other absences are well explained ( due to injury).

What do you think will be the approach for lineups in the four games? I suspect we'll pretty much see the first team vs. Uruguay and Morocco, and maybe a mix of vets and new blood for Nations League. I bet we'll see Scally and Wright get their first caps in one of those games, probably as late subs.

I generally have given GB the benefit of the doubt on the John Brooks matter, and i'm glad he's called in CCV. However, i don't get the selection of Long over Brooks. I'm getting tired of the Morris and Roldan selections but it's not as if their selection over someone else is shocking.

Did Robinson do a one-time switch to Jedi? He better be certain, lest he want Obi Wan later on in his career.

This feels very consistent with how Berhalter has approached his team building to this point. No real surprises and no blatant unexplained omissions. Let's how the pieces fit in June.
