Grant catches up with Robbie Keane, whose phenomenal 20-year senior playing career included three MLS Cup titles with the LA Galaxy; the 2014 MLS MVP award; club tenures at Tottenham, Liverpool, Inter, Coventry City, West Ham, Aston Villa, Celtic and others; and a record 68 international goals in 146 appearances for the Republic of Ireland. Keane talks at length about favorite memories from his playing career, explains why he’s ready to be a head coach in MLS and provides some terrific answers for the Rapid-Fire Quiz.
I wanted to ask a somewhat related question. Sebastian Lletget plays for the Galaxy, so it’s related. Don’t you find the Lletget ridicule online really odd? Lletget is a very skillful American player, and it makes no sense how he became the scapegoat. Ridiculing any pro athlete isn’t ok, but Lletget is a way above average American player. I’ve been waging this war solo on Twitter and on YouTube for months.
