This is the kind of long-form, in-depth writing we’ve grown to look forward to over the years. Thanks, Grant.

Grant, in-depth pieces like this are why I subscribe. Fantastic! Thanks for providing a view of soccer no one else can match.

Bob Bradley, Jesse Marsch, Grant Wahl…it’s almost like they have a special school somewhere in New Jersey that prepares them to break new American ground in the beautiful game.

Thanks! The funny thing is none of knew in 1994 that we'd ever work in professional soccer at some point.

Thank you! I think I might end up watching all their games. It's always a frenetic two hours.

Must be fascinating to watch a practice , talk to coach and players, then see a game and how that prep shows up in the game. Thanks for the article, Grant. Part of my ongoing education as a mid-life soccer fan! Glad to pay to see your stuff. When's the next book coming out!?? Hopefully chronicling a deep run in the World Cup by the USMNT.

Great article! Just subscribed today and happy I did. Quality writing as always. Marketing tip to get subscribers: tweet a teaser quote about Marsch and coaching the USMNT. Might break Twitter! 🤣

Thanks so much, Chris. Jesse came up big on this one opening up the doors to Leeds. And it's always good to speak to Tyler and Brenden. Really cool to see the start to their season. Thanks for reading!

Great piece, and well worth the extra wait! Thanks for the immersion into a few days of their preseason. Not a view that we get on this side very often. Look forward to the Qatar piece(s), and following LUFC for the next several seasons of PL play.
