It's nice to see a generally measured take here from Grant amid the proxy wars that involve the Euro camp sh*tting on players like Long and those who are turned off by the Euro camp in turn taking shots at Scally. Nobody was covering themselves in glory, but it was a good game to get some learnings from and move forward.

- Zimmerman continues to look improved in his passing

- Aaronson was not as able to make things happen on the ball in this game as he was vs. Morocco

- Even though Uruguay showed superior quality (despite being pretty sloppy themselves) for most of the game, it was really encouraging to see the US be the clear better team from about 15' to 45'

I thought USMNT lost balls in bad situations, too often. And I agree with the generally positive defensive performance.

Like others, I appreciate the calm and balanced comments. Love the quality of Musah!

Both teams were narrow in defense and we really missed Dest in this situation. Very interesting how quickly Uruguay used same diagonal ball tactic as Morocco to break the press. At this level, teams will adapt very quickly to tactical styles.

How do you see Berhalter's development as a coach (tactician, personnel, player relations, recruitment) over the course of his tenure?

I always enjoy your post game assessments. I want to add that Johnson was excellent, and I thought Musah played better than ever. He seems to improve every outing. Tim Weah also always creates. Back four were an A ( Zimmerman) a B ( centerback ) and two C’s ( Yedlin and Scally). I think everyone expected Scally to be much better. Uruguay should have the three points. But soccer often does not provide the expected outcome. Most others were either okay or did mn’t really have time to earn a value judgement. I think De La Torre merits more playing time.

I rarely critique lineups, but Haji should’ve started one of these games against WC qualifiers. Now if Wright does well against Grenada and/or ES, the level of competition will be the excuse. Seems like GB prefers Ferreira.

I think we need to play balls into our forwards or through the defensive line quicker our good chances came from this. Then we stopped or didn’t try sometimes the guys get a bit task saturated and don’t see the through ball. Try it more often!! It’ll at least push the defense back

I'm very happy with the point we took today with Uruguay. Loved Musah and Aaronson on the pitch this afternoon. And WZ may be indispensable, right?

Sean John was solid. Good chance that Steffen doesn’t even make the final WC squad, imo.

Agree with all... Once again Musah calm on the ball and not afraid to advance up the pitch when the space opens up.

How were the field conditions and CMP in general?
