Lots of (seemingly unfounded) rumors about Horvath to Atlanta United. I hope it's true for both of their sakes. If he's getting regular playing time I'd be happy with Horvath as the #1 heading into the world cup

Does Tim Howard still have his gloves & boots? Forget what Pep said after the game. It’ll be a long time before he trusts Steffen again - if ever. Forget a loan. He might want to look for an outright move.

Several of the USMNT guys just aren’t getting a lot of playing time. Pepi, Dest, Christian, Tyler,… most of the time they’re coming off the bench, if at all. Yes, it’s a long time until November, but…

Your points are spot on. Our top two goal keepers each have a glaring

weakness ( where one is strong, the other is vulnerable etc ). And if we are to have any success in the World Cup, we need a GK with no obvious flaws. In fact, the GK performance can keep us alive in WC matches. As for the striker position, for some bizarre reason, the USMNT is just at zero. It is like in baseball: a great team has “ strength up the middle.” In soccer terms; that is striker, GK and McKinnie. The USMNT is missing two of three, and the one we do have is badly injured. We are going to need some magic or our team will just run around and lose in Qatar.

Everyone agrees that Turner is better than Steffen at shot-stopping - it passes both the eye-test and the advanced stats. Just go with Turner for 2022. Slonina is the real deal and will be ready for 2026. Bring him along this time.
