Grant, absolutely love the content.

One suggestion, please don’t put the score in the subject line. Those 4:30am games on the west coast are too early to watch live. I was in the 83rd minute when I checked my emails.

Keep up the good work!!

Thanks for riding for Gabriel Jesus, the best Brazilian Number 9 since Ronaldo (Sorry Pato and Adriano).

Did you ever read the Marca article praising Kovačić as a magician from when he was at Real Madrid? It’s from several years ago obviously. I forgot what it was called. It basically said that Kovačić was an amazing 10 and that Real Madrid should be using him more and how the coach had done him a disservice. Tuchel should let him be a 10 instead of forcing him into his hipster 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 where he usually screws over Kante or Kovačić by leaving one on the bench. I think Tuchel is basically the guy who doesn’t move his back row in checkers. He wins, but nobody cares because it’s like watching paint dry.

New paid subscriber. I’ve been reading you since the Sports Illustrated for the 1998 World Cup when you had Clarence Seedorf as one of the players to watch.

Thanks for subscribing! I remember that '98 photo essay with Seedorf in it. Amazing pictures. Ended up getting to know Clarence when we worked together for Fox at the 2018 World Cup. Terrific guy.

Completely agree on the team selection. Plus, I don’t like Werner & Luka as a starting duo.

Yeah, first time we've seen that combo starting up top together. Don't know if we'll see it much more moving forward.

I have no problem with it because Timo needs a traditional #9 with him to be effective. The issue is that you need Havertz behind them to feed the ball and cause chaos. That leaves Pulisic and Ziyech out and they spent a lot of money for both of them.
