These pieces are what truly draws me to your work. The soccer coverage is great but the things that surround the sport almost interests me more. The food, the atmosphere, the PEOPLE! These are the insights you give that transform the sport from an activity to a lifestyle. You truly are showing that "football is life." Thanks Grant

Thanks for the tip. I added Strawberry Hill to my Google maps list of places I want to go.

So glad I subscribed. On the plane home from Cincinnati, I listened to your podcast, which helped me better understand the epic match I had just seen. Now, this newsletter makes me wish I was in Jamaica, too. Hoping for U.S. vs. Canada in Vancouver.

Just so sad. 32-team World Cup was perfect on every level and the balance of qualifying is an underrated one. Nearly every truly good team across the world qualifies while still being battle-tested (and punished when they have a down generation, like the US, Italy, Chile and the Netherlands last cycle).

So much of the drama goes out of qualifying now. I want to see Serbia and Portugal playing a game with massive stakes in front of 70,000 fans, not North Macedonia and Finland.

I’d stay an extra WEEK. But the Doc probably has other plans.

This was amazing. Your soccer coverage is off-the-charts good, but these stories, these are the ones that make you want to be there, want to play soccer, write about soccer. This is absolutely amazing. Thank you, and as a Canadian, hopefully we can beat you guys when you come to Canada we beat you. 😁 Amazing job Grant.
