Thanks for standing against hatred. It took courage. The world needs more of it.

Thank you for standing up for what's right, Grant. Imagine being an LGBTQAI+ person in Qatar. No rights, living under constant threat of detainment or death from an oppressive government who got the World Cup through dubious means. This Cup is a nadir for FIFA, and it's interesting watching them get strong armed by the Qataris now (the last minute beer embargo, etc.). May it all blow up in their faces.

Proud of you, Grant. Your question about what happens to ordinary LBGTQI Qataris who don't have your connection or visibility is an important one.

Grant. Wow. Brave of you to stand your ground, but also disappointing that a journalist there in a professional capacity, no less a fan, is subjected to that moment of uncertainty.

Curious if the FIFA rep asked for feedback or gave any information about how they’d follow up?

Good for you Grant, standing up for what you believe in. Seems to me that the Qataris and Fifa need to put their heads together and stop all of this BS. Everybody welcome my butt!!

Way to go, Grant. I doubt anyone says a bad word of your shirt. Be prepared for fist bumps and Atta boys, however.

Thank you for taking a stand and letting all of us know what happened.

Detaining journalists is quite a way to go about this sportswashing project.

Since the teams have to risk getting yellow cards, if they wear the rainbow armbands, good for you for wearing the shirt. I’m glad confrontation was verbal and not physical.

Thx for doing this Grant. All the FIFA slogans (e.g. "all are welcome" etc.) are mere lip service at this point. The reality on the ground appears to be...much different (and kinda expected). Not a good look for the org thus far through an LGBT fan's lens, imo.

What you had the courage to do is really important. You're making visible what they'd prefer stay hidden. Good on you, sir.
